Fi Wilkie

"Art is the creative muscle that connects us—to ourselves, our communities, and the world we inhabit. It’s a journey without hurry, where stories unfold and understanding deepens over time."

— Fi Wilkie

Fi Wilkie views art as the small key that opened a big door in her life. Having lived in Margaret River, WA for over 30 years, she draws deep inspiration from the local landscape, flora and fauna, and stories. As a painter, maker and illustrator, she works full-time across multiple media, often exploring several bodies of work simultaneously. She leads a local plein air painting group and embraces a patient, evolving creative process that reflects personal experience and complex themes.

A passionate advocate for regional communities, marginalised voices and the natural environment, Fi frequently highlights endangered fauna and natural landscapes in her work. She is a founding artist and board member of Margaret River Region Open Studios and holds life membership of the organisation. Outside the studio, she is a daily ocean swimmer, birdwatcher and lover of life's simple pleasures.
