Julie Davidson’s beautiful still life oil paintings are an investigation of pictorial tradition and the relationship between interior and exterior on a two dimensional surface.“(A) source of inspiration is Jan Vermeer, the Dutch baroque painter of intimate domestic interiors. As in Vermeer’s quiet, contemplative scenes, light falls upon objects from some unseen source, submerging other parts of the painting in warm shadows.” Julie Davidson
