Jeffery Mincham AM is a highly respected Australian ceramic artist whose work has significantly influenced contemporary ceramics over a career spanning more than 40 years. Based in the Adelaide Hills, Mincham is known for his richly textured, multi-glazed vessels that reflect the moods and landscapes of Australia. Drawing on his early training in painting and inspiration from Japanese aesthetics, his ceramics combine bold surface treatments with sculptural forms that evoke natural phenomena like wind, light, and terrain.
Mincham’s work has been exhibited widely across Australia and internationally, and is held in major public and private collections including the National Gallery of Australia. Recognized for his outstanding contribution to the arts, he was named a “Living Treasure: Master of Australian Craft” and appointed a Member of the Order of Australia. Through his ceramics, Mincham captures fleeting moments of the natural world, creating pieces that speak to both place and memory.
