Linton & Kay Galleries is proud to present Samantha Dennison: Closer to Home, a new body of still life paintings inspired by the Torndirrup Peninsula, where Dennison has lived with her family since 2012.Her paintings centre on vessels she makes using clays and ashes gathered directly from the landscape, creating unique surfaces and glazes that carry the character of the places they come from. Following the 2024 bushfire across the Albany harbour, ash collected from the affected headland, together with clay gifted by neighbours, became the foundation for this deeply local body of work.
Paired with familiar objects and plant cuttings, these paintings explore the comforts of home, memory and a strong connection to the Kinjarling landscape.
