"Each piece in the suite, 'Ripple Effect, is a visual echo of unseen connections. Fluid forms and layered textures capture the resonance of even the smallest moments, reminding us that every ripple extends far beyond its origin, shaping the world in ways that often remain invisible." Claire Beausein 2024 Here the ripple is a metaphor for the waves our actions - and inactions - create, resonating through both the physical and social worlds and illuminating how each part impacts the whole. Water, with its fluidity and capacity for transformation, becomes a powerful symbol of connection and renewal. Beausein uses materials inherently tied to water. Floating Hibiscus fibres form the fabric of washi paper, while the blues of Indigo dyes form marks reminiscent of streams, rippling surfaces or wind-blown clouds. Embroidered with thread, these pieces symbolize journeys and connections that link us. Along with Beausein, selected artists explore the theme with two- and three-dimensional works capturing the notions of transformation, renewal and continuous change.
