Don't miss Claire Beausein, feature artist, as she reveals her process, using materials inherently tied to water. Floating Hibiscus fibres form the fabric of washi paper, the blues of Indigo dyes form marks reminiscent of streams, rippling surfaces or wind-blown clouds. Embroidered with thread, these pieces symbolize journeys and connections that link us. This curated exhibition includes the works of Felicia Aroney, Jacinda Bayne, Pippin Drysdale, Peter Griffen, Sarah Keirle, Douglas Kirsop, Denise Lithgow, Eleanor Millard, Alan Muller, Lily Kelly Napangardi, Karlee Rawkins and Willy Tjungurrayl.
The exhibition theme explores two- and three-dimensional works capturing the notions of transformation, renewal and continuous change. The ripple is a metaphor for the waves our actions - and inactions - create, resonating through both the physical and social worlds and illuminating how each part impacts the whole.
"Each piece in the suite, 'Ripple Effect', is a visual echo of unseen connections. Fluid forms and layered textures capture the resonance of even the smallest moments, reminding us that every ripple extends far beyond its origin, shaping the world in ways that often remain invisible." - Claire Beausein 2024
