James Corbett
Zero Point Two Five

James Corbett discovered his talent for creating extraordinary artworks while running an auto-recycling business in Brisbane. Incorporating old and intriguing car parts into his sculptures, nothing is bent into shape; the original integrity of each component is preserved.

From weathered steel, worn gears and forgotten machine parts, James Corbett celebrates both the character of reclaimed materials and the resilience of the creatures they become. His sculptures invite us to look beyond an object's original purpose, discovering character, movement and personality in places we might least expect.

“0.25 equals one quarter. It crossed my mind recently that it is more than a quarter of a century since my first solo exhibition, marking the beginning of my journey as a full-time professional sculptor.” James Corbett, 2026
