LINTON AND KAY GALLERIES AT MANDOON ESTATE WINERY
ARTISTS' FLOOR TALK 3-4PM SUNDAY 9 APRIL
The renowned Celia Perceval and local artists Sandie Schroder and Samantha Dennison all grew up in artistic environments, spending many hours drawing in the Australian bush with their parents as children. In this exhibition, Perceval has created heavily textured paintings in the Stirling Ranges while Dennison has used oil paint to express the subtlety of changing light in arrangements of seasonal wildflowers. Schroder has created images that speak of survival and regeneration by burning directly with fire on paper. Both Elsey and Joubert express the biodiversity and tough survival of ancient plant forms unique to our landscape. Whilst Kate Elsey sculpts directly with oil paint on canvas until the paint becomes the landscape of interpreted flora and fauna, Magda Joubert layers shapes and colour to reveal how the changing light exposes sculptural plant forms.
Five artists from very different backgrounds affirm the vulnerability and tough survival of a beautiful landscape that warrants protection.
This Exhibition is on display at Mandoon Estate Gallery
