Tempelhof is a response to Juniper’s recent experience of living in Berlin, in the older Turkish quarter next to the old WWII airfield, “Tempelhof”, while helping her son convalesce from an accident. In a built-up world, for all the interest it held, she found a necessary antithesis in the famous airfield. The open spaces dramatically responded to the temperament of the winter, amplifying the moods of the Berlin sky. Juniper reflects on the softer side of the human psychological condition, looking at emotive relationships rather than simply at the aesthetics of landscape. This is her beginning point.
