Spirit Engines, the exhibition, is the process of reverse engineering the work of three distinctly different artists from one family, to show that they are inspired by similar themes and issues, even though their work may appear remarkably different. Spirits are flammable, animating, intoxicating, powerful and they fuel the little engines that drive us to print, to paint and to make. We are all powered by the same deep interest in the idiosyncratic behaviour of our fellow human beings and the interactions we have with the other living things in the world around us.
