  • about this exhibition
Due to COVID-19, the gallery at Cherubino Wines in Margaret River has temporarily closed. As more information comes to hand, we will post revised opening hours on this web site, in accordance with the Australian Government Department of Health. In these challenging times, we are keenly aware that the livelihood of artists will be hard hit and are doing our utmost to assist them. Once there is more clarity on this situation, we will once again invite you to enjoy the ambience of Cherubino Wines in Margaret River and the beautiful exhibition of paintings by selected Australian Indigenous artists. Indigenous Australian art is an extraordinary testament to the depth, honesty and emotion of one of the world’s most ancient cultures. The ostensibly abstract art is in fact not so abstract as it hides a deep connection to everyday life, being narrative and emotional as well as visual and intellectual. The exhibition features established and emerging Indigenous artists including Barney Ellaga, Kudditji Kngawarrye, Judy Watson Napangardi, George Ward Tjungurrayi, Rose McCarthy Morgan and many others.
