Linton & Kay Galleries are thrilled to present a major solo exhibition by Robert Moore. One of the original Mambo artists, his work also graces the walls of the various Deus Ex Machina temples around the world.
Robert Moore is held in the National Gallery of Australia, Queensland Art Gallery, National Gallery of Victoria, Museum of Brisbane, Gold Coast City Art Gallery, Ipswich Art Gallery, Artspace Mackay, and the Holmes a Court Collection, Perth. He was a Finalist in the Wynne Prize at AGNSW in 2016.
"Landscape is my subject of choice" he says. "In this group of paintings, I am exploring the way that things are buried in the colours of a landscape. The challenge for me is to simply and refine my mark whilst conveying the energy and beauty of a particular place, whether it is the coastal, bushland or townscape where I live.
"I like to work with abstraction and the figurative in my paintings and, of course, layers of colour. Lots of layers!"
The artist will be in attendance.
