An exhibition of selected artworks by Kate Debbo, Joie Villeneuve, MacKenzie Thorpe and Dr Seuss that celebrate the making of art for pure enjoyment.
Kate Debbo and Joie Villeneuve hail from Western Australia. Debbo uses high key colours in her imaginary paintings of horses, paddocks and rainbows while Villeneuve’s works tell of long hours spent shell-combing on the beach or river’s edge in early childhood.
The selection of imaginative artworks by UK artist MacKenzie Thorpe are a reprieve from the adversity he experienced as a child; they exude hope, warmth and humour, rather than loneliness and isolation.
Beloved by all, Dr Seuss was an expert at indulging his inner child by creating artworks that relied on the unexpected and his fertile imagination to entrance and beguile young and old for generations.
Adults and children alike are reminded to play!
