“Rottnest Island has become a part of many Perth dwellers’ lives. It certainly has been for me since the early nineties, discovering the extraordinary beauty above and below the waterline that in some respects reminded me of the Greek Islands. Limestone and turquoise water. Both characteristics of those Mediterranean islands. To discover this so close to home was a revelation, and over many years I have accumulated a large collection of photographic images. This show has been an adventure - finding the gems in this library of images and bringing them to life as paintings.” Leigh Hewson-Bower 2022
Leigh Hewson-Bower has established a reputation as one of Australia’s finest interpreters of coastal landscapes. His subjects range from the Kimberley to Perth coastal waters and the East coast of New South Wales.
