‘My ideas and concepts for landscapes are drawn from visual and emotional responses to various locations throughout Western Australia. I approach subject matter simultaneously from two perspectives - an aerial view of the earth in relation to the atmospheric illusion of the sky, with the physical and ephemeral elements of fire, wind, dust, rain, mist, shadows and reflections to add drama or mood. I am acutely sensitive to the ever-changing quality of light, with paintings colour-coded to capture a particular moment in time – hence the exhibition title, The Colour of Time.’ Jules Sher, December 2018
