A gift of a bouquet of proteas from her students two years ago sparked the inspiration for the most joyful period of painting Doherty has experienced. Jenni finds that as the flowers dry, their beauty is enhanced and is a reminder that joy and beauty can be found in the most unlikely places. These artworks acknowledge the beauty that comes with aging, something we all have to contend with, as well as being a permanent expression of gratitude for the wonderful experiences that life offers. Beauty can be found in the inevitable.
