“Contemplating the essence of art I often reflect on “what art is”. It could be answered and argued in so many ways. Because of that I believe that art is inherently subjective and adaptable to one’s personal tastes. Art’s purpose is as diverse as its creators. Some pieces cater to an audience, others are for personal delight. There are those crafted for financial reasons and then there are pieces created just for pure spectacle. Arts significance is filtered through the diverse thoughts and ideals held by the viewer. Art is a melting pot of perspectives, a canvas for boundless imagination and a mirror reflecting the creativity of the individual.
Collaborative projects foster a sense of community among artists. By sharing knowledge, support and communication we create an environment that values creativity and innovation. The “In Conversation" exhibition is not just about individual works; it’s about a collective celebration of art and the relationships that can develop through collaboration.
When collaborating with twelve different artists, from different disciplines, excitement is mixed with apprehension. Sharing ones work entails a certain vulnerability. Each participating artist stands as a luminary within their craft, respected and accomplished. Does my work possess the strength to ignite the creation of complimentary works that amplify the visual experience? This remained a constant presence in the back of my mind. After repeating this process twelve times, it is no wonder I am happy to see the exhibition hung and ready for contemplation. And so, we arrive at the end, the countless days, weeks and months of work are moments in history. In the wake of this journey, I invite you to add to the conversation."
