1 - 24 NOVEMBER, MANDOON ESTATE. Samantha Dennison and Jean Sher share the stage and present two exhibitions, one landscape and one predominantly still life works. Sher presents her lyrical landscapes with wind-blown trees and Rottnest still lifes. Dennison takes her starting point from Flora Landells, an art teacher and potter in Perth. ‘Flora Landells was my Mum’s godmother and painted one place setting for each of her birthdays when she was growing up. The process of working on these paintings took me out of my own home and studio and into the homes of my family where these ceramics reside, giving them context and showing how their owners have curated and styled them within the home. So many connections and influences, all of them leading me here to this body of work.’ Samantha Dennison 2019
