NOW PREVIEWING - PERTH CITY 'Palimpsest' is a wonderful word that describes so well a painter's journey, the scraping back, layering and re-working of the support surface. The techniques of chiaroscuro and grisaille under painting reveal and sometimes partly hide hints of the past. Watson's passion is for what she sees and how she exploits the subjects, to reveal harmonies as much as unexpected contrasts. Diana Watson hails from Perth. She graduated in Fine Art and Commercial Art before moving to the eastern states. She has twice been a finalist in the Mosman Art Prize and has been an invited artist or finalist in the Cossack Art Prize, Mandorla Art Prize and others.
