Fabric, says Watson, is a constant in our lives, from swaddling to shroud
and everything celebratory and mundane in between. She combines
fabric with the sculptural beauty and historical significance of skulls that
relate back to the theme of Vanitas. A trip to Rome, seeing an abundance
of very contemporary art and design in the oldest of cities, was pivotal.
