NOW SHOWING @ SUBIACO - Magda Joubert’s colourful and dynamic abstract paintings are unique evocations of the West Australian landscape. Drawn from a personal experiences in the bush and infused with remembered sensations and feelings these hyper landscapes oscillate between observation and memory, figuration and abstraction, the formal and the sensate. Joubert’s view of the landscape aims to defamilarize known territory and re- present the bush as it is remembered in the mind’s eye.
