"My research is always based on distilling subject matter into its simplest form. My position in all the work is that of the emotional journalist. I realise that I use all the mediums of creative expression, Music, Painting and Writing to tell stories. I am just a Story-Teller. Knowing this has released me from the strict restraints of Art in all its forms and now, in my senior years, I feel as if I can let go and finally do what I want. Tell stories.” Andrew Carter 2019
Andrew Carter has been committed to the study and practice of painting and design for 40 years and holds an MFA from Yale University, USA. A distinguished career as a set and lighting designer for companies such as The Royal Ballet, Nederlands Dans Theatre, The Australian Ballet and Sydney Dance Company, his design work has been seen around the world and he has held 15 solo exhibitions of paintings.
