“I have always had a fascination with illusion, the representation of the visual world as I first experienced it as a young boy wandering through the National Gallery of Victoria.  My work is probably a confluence of a few paths; a love of nature and wild places, a passion for photography and a love of art in general, as long as it’s created with skill and intelligence. I suppose this show could be summed up as a fresh look at some familiar and not so familiar places...still approaching each reference as a challenge to try to distill that sense of place and capture the beauty of our remarkable coastline.” Leigh Hewson-Bower, 2012
