Tony Hewitt Photography, Linton and Kay Galleries

Tony Hewitt

“In a way, each image is a voice for my eyes, a translation if you will, . . . if my eyes had a voice, perhaps, this is what they would say. In the absence of such things, the image is their chance to be heard!”

- Tony Hewitt

Passionate about sharing uncommon perspectives and instinctive about capturing the moment, Tony combines award-winning fine-art imagery with simple creativity. He is regularly invited to share his photographic vision and the philosophy behind it as an exhibiting artist or keynote speaker.

'Revealing that which cannot be seen' is a common theme in Tony's work, as he seeks to celebrate the inherent design in nature and the ethereal nature of curious light.

He has exhibited both in Australia and overseas since 1995, regularly sharing successful expressions of his vision through solo exhibitions, including Lux et Aqua, Evapor8, Transience and Continuum at Lynton & Kay Galleries in Australia. 2022 also saw the release of his latest retrospective collection, Occuli. More of his work features in the incredible 100-piece collaborative collection, 'Girt by Sea', captured during a 31-day circumnavigation of the Australian coastline — one of the most ambitious fine-art photography projects ever undertaken in Australia. Tony is currently working on several new projects for 2023 and beyond.

He is a Grand Master of the Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP), a Fellow and Honorary Fellow of the AIPP, and a Fellow of the NZIPP. His career highlights include winning over 400 state, national and international awards. He lives in Perth with his family, travels often, loves the beach, and can still ride a skateboard. Oh, and he loves a good Malbec wine, too!
