Stephanie Reisch

“I am interested in exploring the landscape from an elemental state. I'm curious about the aspects of the landscape that can't be seen beneath the surface … I want to capture that movement, primal energy, and sense of place that represents the layering of different time scales.”

- Stephanie Reisch

Stephanie Reisch is a multidisciplinary artist, curator, and researcher based in Perth, Western Australia. With a practice grounded in painting, installation, and sound, her work explores ancestral memory, liminality, and the unseen dimensions of landscape. Reisch holds a PhD in Fine Art from Curtin University and a Bachelor of Visual Arts from Edith Cowan University, where she also lectures in art education.

Working across traditional and digital media, her research-driven approach is informed by prehistoric symbolism, archaeological sites, and metaphysical narratives. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, including solo exhibitions in Paris, Melbourne, and Perth. Reisch is represented in numerous public and private collections, such as Artbank, the Holmes à Court Collection, and BHP Billiton, and has been commissioned for major public artworks including for the Ritz Carlton Perth.

An advocate for contemporary arts, Reisch has served on the board of Artsource (as Chair) and worked as an associate editor for international academic journals on new media and the arts. Her projects often engage with themes of presence and absence, inviting quiet contemplation and a heightened awareness of place.
