Stefan Milosavljevic

"I'm drawn to the moment before an ending, when the gaze shifts from seeing to feeling.”

Stefan Milosavljevic is a multidisciplinary artist working across painting, video, installation, photography and performance. Drawing from autobiographical experience, his practice explores identity, intimacy, memory, desire, masculinity and spirituality, examining the relationship between private emotion and broader social and cultural structures.

His paintings occupy the space between the visible and invisible, combining his Serbian origins and traditions of divination, folk magic, tarot and religious symbolism with his experience of Italian culture and art history. Influenced by archetypal mythology, his imagery emerges from a collective archive of myths, symbols and inherited memories.

Icarus recurs as a metaphor for the desire to transcend the known and approach the unknowable, where aspiration, vulnerability, revelation and falling coexist. Through ambiguity, the artist invites viewers to perceive rather than decipher.
