Born in Utrecht, Netherlands, Richard Woldendorp migrated to Australia in 1950. In 1961 he became a professional photographer. His work has been prolific and is extensively collected. In 2004 he was made a WA State Living Treasure and in 2005 named a Lotterywest ‘Inspirational West Australian’. The Art Gallery of Western Australia In 2009 celebrated his work and contribution to art in a major exhibition. The energetic octogenarian shows no signs of slowing down and is showing ‘Out of the Blue’ as a complement to his recent book of the same name.
