Kiara Rechichi-Baker
Written By Thomas Eberhart Freeman
“There is an ongoing dialogue between material and meaning, where surfaces are built, obscured and revealed.”
Kiara’s practice is distinctly multidisciplinary, spanning linocut, woodblock carving, pastel, and watercolour, with each medium informing the next. Her work highlights recurring themes of inner emotional landscapes, environmental observation, and the interplay between human experience and nature. Influenced in part by residencies in Venice, her more recent work explores the movement and symbolism of water, treating the lagoon as a living, feminine presence that connects history, ecology, and personal reflection.
