“Although my sculptures are made in Bronze my material of choice is clay. I choose clay because of its sensitivity and flexibility. I choose bronze for its history and beauty.”
Stephen Glassborow is an Australian artist whose sculptural practice is grounded in a refined exploration of form, balance, and material. Working across ceramics and bronze, he creates elegantly resolved objects that sit between vessel and sculpture, often characterised by elongated silhouettes and finely articulated surfaces.
His work reflects a disciplined engagement with process, where repetition and subtle variation play a key role in shaping each piece. Rather than overt narrative, Glassborow’s forms suggest a quiet internal logic—drawing on natural structures such as seed pods, shells, and botanical growth without directly representing them.
With a career spanning several decades, Stephen has exhibited extensively in Australia and internationally.
