Holly Grace is an Australian artist based in Melbourne, Victoria. Grace studied at Monash University, majoring in glass with first class honors and completed her Masters of Fine Art in 2004. Since then she has exhibited in venues such as the Melbourne Art Fair, London Art Fair, Sofa Chicago, Art Taipei and has had numerous solo exhibitions both here in Australia and internationally. Her work has been collected by various public and private collections, such as the National Gallery of Australia, Parliament House Art Collection, Glas Museum Ebeltoft, the National Glass Collection, Gallery of Western Australia, and Kerry Stokes Art Collection.
Grace became interested in Danish Design while studying at Monash University in Melbourne. In 2001 Holly met Viki Noorman Koefoed, the head of the Glass department at Glas & Keramikskolen Bornholm. Inspired by this meeting and with her growing interest in Danish design she decided to apply and in 2002 was successful in receiving an Australia Council Grant to do a six-month mentorship with Viki at the Glas & Keramikskolen Bornholm, in Denmark. This time and subsequent trips to Denmark has been formative to Grace’s development as an artist and as a glass maker. It was also during these trips that the artist began to first use digital photography as a means to document the landscape. This documentation and the use of digital technology are to become an integral part of her artistic practice and became integrated with the traditional techniques of hand blown glass
