This project (POP EARTH series) is largely a solitary practice that honours the introvert in my personality and allows me to be immersed in the environment. Each artwork is a like a page of a book and tells the story of my routine, which is a collection of experiences.
My practice uses the foundations of traditional printmaking processes, enveloped in contemporary approaches including different methods, surfaces and textures to expand the perimeters and perception of printmaking. I create experimental and immersive art across intaglio, mono printing and painting techniques that tell stories of the land, the natural environment and the impacts of modern society.
The repetition and the combination of colours are a reference to the POP ART movement of the 50’/60’ which is far from the earthy approach I personally have when I work but that I still admire as part of the art history.
