I’m mostly interested in the dynamic unruly nature Banksias have, they seem so chaotic and mysterious, so unkempt. To some a little threatening (thanks May Gibbs and those Big bad Banksia men!) but I’ve discovered this is juxtaposed by an amazing sense of order and pattern in certain stages of their growth. I like the way this apparent chaos juxtaposes with our neat ordered urban landscapes, and lament the way we so easily replace one with the other.
