Felicia Aroney
“For me, art is a vessel through which I can communicate with any audience. ... I use my art to draw out memories and tell stories in a way that words cannot.”
Felicia Aroney is a Perth-born, Sydney-based contemporary artist known for her richly textured floral and abstract paintings. Drawing on her European heritage, Felicia is inspired by the distressed, timeworn facades of classical architecture—surfaces marked by history and memory.
Working primarily with oils and acrylics, she uses a palette knife to layer and sculpt paint into bold, dimensional forms that rise in relief from the canvas. This signature technique gives her work a highly tactile quality, blurring the line between painting and sculpture. Her art evokes a deep sense of antiquity while celebrating the natural world, capturing both the elegance of the past and the vitality of the present.
Felicia has a strong and established presence in the art world. She is represented by eight leading Australian galleries and has exhibited extensively, with over 50 solo and group exhibitions to her name. Her work has been shown internationally in cities including Hong Kong, Singapore, Seoul, and Florence. A Mosman Art Prize finalist, Felicia’s paintings are held in private collections throughout Asia, Australia, and Europe.
