In the form of mortuary headrest, this work bears witness to transformation. While its physical shape speaks of mortality, it transcends notions of death, addressing instead the experience of metamorphosis. The curves and contours call to mind the shape and weight of the head, it remembers the departed and mourns the physical being. As one figure watches over the other, as do we in life and death.
