Andrew Tyler

Based in Wyalkatchem, Western Australia, self-taught artist
Andrew Tyler started creating metal sculptures as a hobby.
“I see life in discarded pieces of rusty and greasy junk. In my odd,
twisted brain I see how pieces from an abandoned rusty old car
can become part of a fish’s tail. I collect scraps, broken parts and offcuts from disused machinery, cars, motorcycles, manufacturing industries and farms to make my sculptures. I spend hours cleaning and prepping the parts so I may bash, bend and weld them together in an attempt to form a likeness of an
animal, person or object.
In my work I hope to put new life into old.” – Andrew Tyler, 2017
